Federal Service on intellectual property, patents and trademarks (RosPatent) awarded top 100 Russian Inventions. The ceremony was timed to the International day of intellectual property.
Candidate works were chosen from the database of RosPatent, containing over 1 thousand of perspective patents. Selected inventions were reviewed by a special commission of RosPatent. Main task of this contest is stimulation and encouragement of promising domestic research-and- development projects for their further market promotion and commercial introduction.
PosPatent experts have several requirements for a promising invention. For example, an innovation should boast an original technical solution, be ready for commercial production and result in some economic benefit.
Winning inventions touched various fields of science, including military technologies, medicine and development of pharmaceuticals, cell technologies, technologies of ecologically friendly field exploitation and mining operations. For instance, Moscow State Institute of Steel and Alloys developed a material on the base of aluminum. This material, working in wide range of temperatures and various environments, was created for material metallurgy. Research resulted in a product – new elastic material with extra durability. Pilot samples are ready for tests.
Another Russian company developed a technique for breast cancer diagnostics. The invention is applicable in oncology for cancer and mastopathy diagnostics. New technique allows early and accurate diagnostics of malignant and non-malignant growths in breasts.
An aircraft design bureau developed a unit for airplane emergency braking.
Individual inventors also were among the winners. One of them developed a simple and environment-safe technique for wastewater and recycling water treatment and disinfection. This technique can find application at mining enterprises due to its ecological safety; at mineral dressing for lowering process losses; at civil water pipelines for people health.
Authors of top 100 inventions received RosPatent’s diplomas and badges of honour.
