National Association of Innovations and Development of Information Technologies (NAIRIT) announced another top ten of innovations. Press service of the Association reports that over 3000 applications were submitted to NAIRIT in order to participate in the contest. Here are ten best ideas of Russian scientists and engineers according to NAIRIT.
First place:
“Magnetic random access memory”
Russian scientists developed crucially new technology for creating magnetic random access memory, which combines best properties of all existing memory devices: fast response and random access to memory, nonvolatility and capacity of hard disk drives, and flash memory size. Engineers have introduced principal changes to the technology, thus solving a number of significant problems, for instance, they simplified memory cell design and made the cell very small. Scientists also reduced production costs and number of out-of-control rejects by means of making main parameters less sensitive.
Second place:
“Effective decontamination by means of oil-degrading bacteria”
Scientists created a technology, which offers solution to such burning ecological issues as technogenic contamination of waters and soils with oil products. Suggested method has nothing to do with synthetic toxic agents, which are now widely used for decontamination – oil degraders produce natural substances. The technology allows avoiding any negative consequences for human being and environment.
Third place:
“Development of population and genetic basics for personal genetic identification”
Authors suggest a method for optimization of existing techniques of personal genetic identification. New method improves accuracy of recognition and, at the other hand, reduces costs and duration of the procedure, making personal genetic identification available for people at large.
Fourth place:
“Device for reality simulation in computer games”
Engineers suggest a device, which affects human brains with very weak electromagnetic radiation and causes full integration into the world of a computer game, as well as enhances participation effect. Same device helps improving human memory and increasing working ability together with attention without any chemical stimulators, which destroys human organism. Moreover, the device causes the state of total relaxation and helps a metropolis dweller to have some rest, which is of great importance for those, living at the full speed. Thorough studies showed that the device is harmless for human health.
Fifth place:
Russian engineers suggest a technology, which enhances productivity of electrolysis unit and reduces power consumption on 150-200 kilowatt-hours per one ton of produced metal. Introduction of control software doesn’t require any additional costs for equipment installation.
Sixth place:
“Device for diagnostics and therapy of space-occupying lesions”
Mentioned device has no analogues in the world: the innovation allows very accurate detection of tumor locuses in internal organs and soft tissues, including early stages. The device also treats detected lesions, thus leading the patient to full recovery. Application technology is quite simple – the device can be used even in ordinary medical centres.
Seventh place:
“Windmill with vertical axis rotor”
New idea of a windmill differs from others – its blades have vertical position, thus utilizing energy of both vertical and horizontal air flows. Original construction retrieves energy from such previously forgotten sources as boiler vapours or vent lines of skyscrapers. Innovative wind power generator is expected to substitute existing means of energy generating, which harm environment.
Eighth place:
“Production of complex organomineral fertilizers from coal mining wastes”
Russian scientists suggest producing agricultural fertilizers from wastes of coal-mining industry – a good way to get rid of thousands of tons of hazardous wastes. High efficiency of fertilizers is confirmed by numerous experiments, that is why said chemicals can be used for remediation of any kind of farm lands in any region of Russia.
Ninth place:
“Automatic programmable liquids mixer with contactless control”
This innovation solves the problem of hygiene activities in public accommodations and in places, where permanent sterility of hands and instruments is required (surgeons, for instance). Now all you have to do is put your hands or instruments near the tap, and a mixture of water and disinfecting solution will start flowing.
Last but not the least – tenth place
“Well electrohydraulic diaphragm pumping unit”
Authors developed new oil pump, which coefficient of efficiency exceeds that of existing pumps two times. New pump also has increased reliability and durability, owing these to special nanodiamond coating, covering parts, most subjected to wear. The pump's increased power and reduced energy consumption allow significantly reducing oil extraction costs.
