In 2016 the Moscow Physics and Technology Institute has become the only Russian higher education institution to be in top of the general rating by CWUR.

The Federal Education and Science Supervision Service (Rosobrnadzor) prohibited accepting students to seven Moscow higher educational institutions and five regional ones.

Young musicians from 19 countries will participate in the VIII International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. The creative competition will start on Monday in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
