The Red Heat Company and StarNet VC Foundation presented an electronic module for the Kalashnikov gun allowing to monitor the number of the remaining cartridges and the technical state of the weapon, as well as to transmit data about it through available networks. This was said in the companies’ statement received by “Lenta.Ru”.
The device was presented at the military-technical forum “Army-2015” held in Kubinka in Moscow Oblast from June 16 to June 19. It is attached to the forearm of the fun. The built-in sensors allow to track the position of the weapon by the navigation systems GLONASS and GPS, collect statistics on its use and monitor the state of the barrel and the consumption of cartridges.
Power supply is provided by a standard battery. The Advisor of Red Heat Anatoly Smorgonsky said that it was possible that they would revise the built-in modem for data transmission standards of the countries where the weapons will be sold. Traffic is encrypted by the key 256 bits long, the encryption system was developed in Russia.
According to the calculations of Smorgonsky, this module can also be used on airsoft guns for training and preparation. Now the available options include removable and fixed forearms with a control device.
The cost of the fixed version (one forearm plus an electronic module) will make up 25 thousand roubles, according to the company’s estimates.
