ROSCOSMOS Will Allocate 16 Billion RUR for Monitoring Natural Resources

Roscosmos is going to create an optical-electronic space complex for studying the natural resources of Earth. The Resource-PM system will cost 16 billion rubles to the state corporation.
The information has been posted among the purchasing documents of Roscosmos. This system is expected to provide the data required for updating maps and city plans, controlling the pollution of environment, monitoring emergency situations, as well as environmental monitoring and cadastral survey. 
Besides, the capacities of Resource-PM will be used for finding gas and oil, minerals, highways and so on. The system will consist of three spacecrafts at least, the fact accounting for its high cost.
Besides, the set of the Resource-PM system will include a space complex, GLONASS navigation means, a land based centre for planning, receiving and distributing the information of remote sensing of the Earth and a space based retranslation system Luch (i.e. Beam).
According to the documents, Resource-PM will be constructed by the Progress State Research and Production Space Centre. All the works are expected to have been completed by the end of November, 2022.
