There are analogues of such a product both in Russia and abroad, but the new formulation is several times more efficient and much cheaper.
Novosibirsk biotechnology company BioOil has developed a biopreparation capable of removing a large amount of fats from sewage systems of food industries and public catering enterprises.
This was announced on the sidelines of the 5th International Technological Development Forum “Technoprom” in Novosibirsk, the company's technical director Anatoly Glushkov.
According to him, there are analogues of such a substance both in Russia and abroad. However, Novosibirsk formulation is 5-7 times more efficient and 30 per cent cheaper as compared to them.
"Its main task is waste water treatment and the environmental improvement. This product destroys fats and oils of both animal and vegetable origin. In the sewage system, it generates a bacterial colony that destroys fats and thus prevents the formation of blockages and purifies water,"- Mr. Glushkov said.
He noted that bacteria absorb fat and live in the sewer system as long as it keeps getting there. The colony just needs to be refilled from time to time, since the bacteria are partially washed away with water and exterminated by aggressive chemical reagents. However, the microorganisms of the substance are fairly stable to the latter.
Currently, the developers are setting up the industrial production of the bacterial agent. It will be useful for meat processing plants, poultry farms and other food industries, as well as for public catering enterprises. A number of contracts for the supply of the bio substance have already been signed with its producers.
The biopreparation is presented as one of the projects of the Siberian Venture Fair, which traditionally takes place in Novosibirsk along with the Technoprom forum.
