1971—Sergey Bodrov Jr., actor, film director, is born.
The character he played in films Brother and Brother 2, Danila Bagrov, becomes Russian national hero in late nineties. In 2002 while filming Svyaznoy (Connection) he dies in the mountains of North Ossetia when a glacier comes down.

1932—Passport system is introduced in the USSR.
After the Revolution of 1917 all passports are cancelled. With the return of passports everybody is to register the address of his or her residence. Violation of the order of the passport system can result in administrative or even legal punishment.

1832—Pavel Tretyakov, the founder of the famous Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, is born.
