1479—Vasily III, All-Russian Sovereign (1505–1533), is born.
Vasily III is the son of Ivan III the Great, being the youngest son he is not supposed to become tzar, but his mother, Sophia Paleolog (niece of the last Byzantium Emperor, Constantine XII), manages to persuade Ivan III to make Vasily the direct heir to the throne. Vasily III has two sons: Ivan IV the Terrible and Yury.
