1961—Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space
12 April the Vostok1 with Yuri Gagarin on board was lanched to take the first human to orbit.

1823—Alexander Ostrovsky, playwright, is born.
In 1849 Ostrovsky creates a comedy, “It's a Family Affair–We'll Settle It Ourselves”, which brings him fame 11 years later (at first it’s banned by tzar Nikolay I, and Ostrovsky is held under police surveillance). Inspired by success Alexander continues writing one or several plays every year, thus creating “Ostrovsky theatre”, which includes 47 plays of different genres.
