1889—Anna Akhmatova, poetess, is born.
Anna Akhmatova is considered the soul of the Silver Age (of Russian poetry), her poems are compared to those by Sappho and Mozarts music. The Akhmatova museum was opened in 1989 to celebrate the poetesss 100th birthday in the Fountain Court in the centre of St. Petersburg.
