Dates in History
1925—Arkady Strugatskiy, Science-fiction writer, is born.
Together with his brother Boris they have written lots of novels, some of which have been translated into English. Their most famous novel “Piknik na obochine” has been translated as Roadside Picnic in 1977 and later was filmed by Andrei Tarkovsky under the title Stalker. Strugatskiy brothers were and still are popular in many countries, including Poland, Bulgaria and Germany with their novels “Monday begins on Saturday”, “It’s hard to be God” and others.
