Russian air carrier Sibir (aka S7) laid off 100% of personnel involved in servicing Russian planes including 600 pilots trained to fly Tu 154.

Sibir Airlines, also known as S7, walked out of talks on acquisition of 42.75% stake in Austrian Airlines, now controlled by the Austrian government.

Etihad Airways, the National Airline of the United Arab Emirates, is set to enter the Russian market by launching direct flights from Abu-Dhabi to Moscow on December 1.
