Soviet Comedy

Yesterday saw the premiere of the coloured version of the famous Soviet comedy The Foundling (Podkidysh).
The colorization and restoration of the 1939comedy starring Faina Ranevskaya and Rostislav Plyatt was carried out by the Russian company Formula Tsveta.
It has become known that the same company plans to film a 3D remake of the cult comedy. The leading role will be played by Renata Litvinova, and the scenario is already being written by the fantasy writers Marina and Sergei Dyachenko, who adapted The Inhabited Island (Obitaemyy ostrov) by Strugatsky Brothers for Fyodor Bondarchuks movie.
The remake will have two missing kids - a boy and a girl - instead of one boy. Accordingly the filmmakers promise twice as many comic situations. The film is planned to be released in 2011-2012.
