Russia bids to host FIFA World Cup 2018/2022

Russia has applied to host the World Cup 2018/2022. The official presentation was displayed in the South Africa. Russia is competing with England, Spain and Portugal, and Belgium and the Netherlands to host the World Cup in 2018. FIFA executive committee is to pay visits to Russia on 16-19 August this year. The capital of the FIFA World Cup will be named on December 2, 2010. Russia claims four clusters made up out of 13 cities. They are the northern: Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg; the central: Moscow and the region; the Volga region: Yaroslavl, Nizhniy Novgorod, Samara, Kazan, Saransk and Volgograd; the South: Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar and Sochi and Yekaterinburg separately. The Russian application contains 16 stadiums, which fit the highest football standards.
