The exhibition dedicated to Vasily Shukshin’s last novel "I have come to give you freedom", which he did not have enough time to film, has opened today in the Altai State Museum of the History of Literature, Art and Culture.
The exhibition presents documents from the archives of Russian film studios, as the regional culture department informs.
Visitors will see earlier little known photos of Vasily Shukshin made in the course of selecting the place for shooting of the film about Stepan Razin, where Shukshin appears wearing a dense beard - an image earlier absolutely unfamiliar.
At the exhibition one well also see some versions of the film scripts, and manuscript drafts of various editions of the novel. A special section of the exposition is dedicated to theatrical performances based on Shukshin’ last novel.
