Moscow Archeologists Suggest Opening Chess Museum in Moscow

Adviser of Moscow Mayor and the former Chief Archeologist of Moscow Alexander Veksler has suggested opening History of Chess Museum.

As Mr. Veksler stated, archeologists find such a great number of chess artifacts that there is an impression that "all the Muscovites have always played chess". Nevertheless he added that it is not like that. "We also find other games", - he pointed out.

The archeologist plans to open a museum "that is not present anywhere else in the world".

It should be noted that there is Museum of City Archeology in Moscow. It was opened in Manezhnaya Square in 1997. Its exposition presents archeological finds made in the course of excavations in the historical centre of Moscow.
