Two Exhibitions of Alexander Labas Start in Moscow

Two exhibitions of the glorified Soviet artist Alexander Labas (1900-1983) open in Moscow - the Moscow Museum of Modern Art displays his drawings, whereas the Proun Gallery presents a free reconstruction of the artists only personal exhibition in the House of Artist on Kuznetsky Bridge in 1976.
      The artist is regarded to be one of the most romantic painters of the Soviet epoch; art historians dispute about his belonging to the futurists.
      His adherence to the aeronautics theme gained him fame the artists probably most known work is titled The Dirigible (1931).
      The exhibition of Alexander Labas in Moscow Museum of Modern Art runs till October, 10th, and in Proun Gallery till October, 13th.
