Rosokhrankultura has not let out works by Avdey Ter-Oganyan from Russia to the exhibition Russian counterpoint that is opening on October, 14th in Louvre.
“Works by Avdey Ter-Oganyan will apparently not be present at the exhibition”, - director of the Perm Modern Art Museum Marat Gelman mentioned in his blog.
It became known on September 24th that four works by Avdey Ter-Oganyan were not permitted to leave Russia. Russian Ministry of Culture explained that the texts on these works might be seen as an appeal to violent change of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation and kindling of national and religious strife.
In response to that some artists refused to participate in the exhibition unless the forbidden works were again included in the exposition. At the same time Avdey Ter-Oganyan advanced a claim to prolong the Russian passport to artist Oleg Mavromatti who is living in Bulgaria and now facing danger of imprisonment on the case of kindling of religious hatred.
