First group of professional guides in the field of ecological tourism is ready to set to work. 19 persons have completed their training by leading Russian specialists in eco-tourism in the city of Severobaikalsk. The course they've had was adapted for Baikal circumstances.
The guides are fully informed in the area of Baikal ecology, including nature and culture of ingenious peoples. Moreover, eco-guides have studied modern hospitality technologies and service. They will work in the special tourist zone Baikal Bay, which will function all the year, instead of most hostels and tour centres are open during the short summer only. Prolongation of tourist season is supposed to make tourist flow to the region more stable and consequently, local public's life as well, because guide is not a popular job in the Republic of Buryatia now because currently it is a seasonal one.
