Black Diggers Endanger History Monuments in Udmurtia

Black diggers as a rule have modern metal detectors that can see precious metals in the ground up to the depth of 1 meter.
The marauders, who do not care a bit about the history, take all the precious things out by most barbarous methods. There were cases of uncovering ground layers with dredges. Even so, none of the criminals has been detained or punished so far.
One of the recent examples is the discovered illegal excavation of Gorodensky burial ground in Balezino Region, Udmurt Republic.
We have received the findings that reject institution of legal proceedings on the basis that the person who had dug the tumuli with a metal detector had no malicious intention, - the deputy director of the Center for use and restoration of cultural heritage sites Larisa Knyazeva reported in an interview.
At the same time militiamen state that they have difficulty in investigating such cases, because archeologists address them too late, when excavation has already been done and no traces of criminals can be found.
