Exhibition Russian Historical Portrait. Engraving of the 18th century has opened in the State History Museum, Moscow.
The History Museum’s collection of prints makes it possible to track all the stages of development of the portrait genre in Russian art, recall faces of the country’s sovereigns and members of their families, representatives of noble families, as well as scientists, artists, military leaders, and public figures.
The exposition falls into three chronological parts, corresponding to the epoch of Peter the Great, mid 18th century and the reign of Catherine II.
The exhibition runs till January, 23rd.
