Black Archeologists Get Hold of 10 Monetary Treasures in Ryazan Region Every Year

The major factor in destruction of archaeological heritage is black diggers who extract historical values for sale, the head of the State Protection of Cultural Heritage of Federal Value Department of the Ryazan Region Culture and Tourism Committee Igor Karpitsky claimed.

Every year in the course of illegal activities of black diggers in the Ryazan Region not less than 10 monetary buried treasures are taken over by private figures, he said at the sitting of the Culture Committee on Wednesday.

This year black archeologists have gained a few very rare Ryazan coins of the Pronsky Princedom. One such coin costs up to 80 thousand roubles in the black market, Igor Karpitsky pointed out.
