Burnt Wooden House First Time Restored and not Taken down in Ryazan

For over half a year the burnt down wooden building at 77, Svobody Street was staring with its empty windows in the historical centre of Ryazan.
Reconstruction works were started only in autumn 2010.
To tell you the truth, I observe what is going on with an unusual feeling, regional specialist Arsene Baburin says, as far as I know it is the first case in Ryazan, when a burnt wooden house is restored instead of being totally brought down. It is a pity, however, that simultaneously with this constructive process there goes on destruction of the few remaining creations of wooden architecture. I know that death sentence to one more beautiful wooden building in Sadovaya Street has been signed recently.
Once in Ryazan there were a great number of original log houses decorated with ornaments. The city could count on creation of a corresponding street-museum and being registered on the federal lists of cultural heritage sites.
