Nanodust for Better Fingerprinting Developed

Scientists from Tomsk Polytechnic University have developed a unique nano-sized magnetic fingerprinting dust.

New dust allows capturing fingerprints ninety-nine times out of a hundred, and these fingerprints will be brighter, and clearer than made by any other existing means, forensic experts say.

New dust helps take fingerprints even from polyethylene and glossy paper, which are known to be “difficult” materials for this purpose. Even when only a part of a fingerprint is at an expert’s disposal, bright and contrast lines help him to tell, who is the owner of a fingerprint.
