For the first time works by modern artists of the North Korea have been brought to be displayed in Russia.
Art, just like all other spheres of life, is strictly regulated in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea: it should be national in its form and socialist in its content. Its characters are workers, peasants, and military men, who live a hard but happy everyday life. The exhibition "Water Flows under Ice Too" opened in the Winzavod Art Centre in Moscow will run till the end of January.
As the organizers tell, it was quite simple to arrange brining North Korean pictures to Russia, since the country did not make any special demands. Some of the North Korean artists even arrived in Moscow to appear at the opening of the exhibition; however, they avoided communication with journalists.
