A new public HD-channel will be launched in Russia. This proposal of inclusion of HD-TV channel in the "third multiplex" package was suggested by the Ministry of Communications.
      
      A new public HD-channel will be launched in Russia. This proposal of inclusion of HD-TV channel in the “third multiplex” package was prepared by the Ministry of Communications and approved by the State Commission on broadcasting development.
      
      The package will be launched in a few years. The first multilex package will contain RTR channel (Russia 1, Russia 2, Culture, Russia 24 and Bibigon), NTV and Channel Five. Some radiostations will be also included in the package.
      
      The HD broadcasting is already underway in several regions in Russia. It is planned that by the year 2013 the system will work in every region.
