An explosion happened in Moscow's Domodedovo airport, the busiest one in the Russian capital on the January, 24 at 16.32 MSK, killing 35 people at least . Some 170 people were injured in the blast, which reports suggest was the work of a suicide bomber. Some witnesses say it was a woman wearing hijab, others supposed it was a man of Arabic or Caucasian appearance, and that he shouted: "I'll kill you all!" before he had detonated the equivalent of 7kg (15lb) of TNT.
Place for the crime was chosen perfectly. It happened in the international arrivals hall in a public area, to which people who are not passengers have free access, where where friends, relatives and drivers were waiting for passengers to come through customs.
The hall filled with smoke, the panic began. But short after that functioning of the airport was back to normal. People were still checking in for flights. But security at the entrance was increased.
Domodedovo airport was closed for 20 minutes, when injured and dead bodies were ferried from the scene to Moscow hospitals. Emergency workers had to use luggage trolleys - so many people were injured and dead. Now the airport is functioning nominally.
