Russias rescue teams to arrive in Japan

Russia has sent two rescue teams to assist Japan in struggling with the consequences of the most devastating earthquake. Japan has accepted Russias help for the first time in its history.
Today at 18.00 pm Moscow time the first Russias rescue team flew out Moscow airport Ramenskoye with 50 search and rescue experts and special equipment on board of IL-76. Another team left Khabarovsk on Mi-26 helicopter. Twenty-five search and rescue experts and a rescue car are reported to be on its board.
The Russian Emergency Ministry has claimed in case more assistance is needed Russia is ready to send additional rescue teams and means.
Russias rescuers will join Chinese, French, British, German and American rescue experts.
Strong earthquakes hit the Tohoku Region in the afternoon of March 11, triggering several meter high tsunami waves that caused massive destruction and loss of human lives in areas along the Pacific coast of eastern Japan, especially in Miyagi, Iwate and Fukushima Prefectures.
