300-year-old Wooden Wells Dug out in Moscow
vesti-moscow.ru

Wooden drainage wells dated to the 17th and 19th centuries have been found on a building site in Maly Kozihinsky Lane, where a hotel complex is being built.

The history of these finds is as follows. Inhabitants of Maly Kozihinsky Lane that live near the building of the notorious hotel of Nikita Mikhalkov’s Studio TriTe in the course of daily monitoring of the scandalous building site found out that the dredge ladle had caught onto strange old wooden logs.

In winter this year archeologists of Moscow Cultural Heritage Committee already worked there and discovered a complex of Russian stove tiles (izrazets) of the early 17th-18th centuries, which remained from a stove in the main estate wooden house and a number of small items: a 19th century neck pendant copper cross and copper buttons, 18th-19th cc ointment jars and fragments of ceramic vessels, etc.
