Rescuers Fight to Save Drunk People from Drifting Ice Floe

Four dwellers of Nizhni Novgorod put up resistance to rescuers who had come to save them from an ice floe.

The four young men decided to celebrate Easter on the ice of Volga River near the town of Gorodets. But soon the melted ice floe broke away and went drifting down the river.

About 6 pm some eyewitnesses reported to rescuers about people suffering from disaster. Gorodets rescue group started off to help and caught the ice floe up at a 100 meter distance from the river bank.

However, rescuers faced unexpected resistance, since the young men weren't going to leave the ice raft. One of them even jumped into water and managed to swim a few meters away, but was soon caught up. All the four men, aged from 23 to 25, were delivered to the land and, since they didn't need hospitalization, were given over to the police.
