Famous Animator Aleksey Shelmanov Passes Away in Moscow

Well-known animation film director Aleksey Shelmanov has suddenly died in Moscow, aged 55.
      
      A student of Fyodor Khitruk and Roman Kachanov, he worked for more than 10 years at the Soyuzmultfilm Studio and then at Argus Studio.
      
      Aleksey Shelmanov took part in creation of popular animations, such as Peremenka, Merry Roundabout, Medvezhut, and others.
      
      In recent years Aleksey Shelmanov worked as an independent free director and artist, and an illustrator of children's books. The director was going to start production of the animated cartoon serial Masha and Gosha's Adventures, however had time to complete only the first series.
