Mad Fox Bites Man in his Apartment in Chuvashia

A mad fox made its way into a five-storeyed apartment house and bit one of the residents in Mariinsky Posad (Chuvashia).

The fox got into the entrance of House 68 in Lazo Street, rose up to the fifth floor and gnawed on to an iron door at night of April, 24th. Then the fox bit twice a man who had gone out to smoke at the staircase landing. The fox bit him into the left hand and left shin. The victim was delivered to the regional hospital for medical aid.

“In the course of a round-up arranged by police officers and vets, the fox attacked one of the policemen and tore his cap that he was protecting himself with from the mad beast. The fox was killed at the ground floor of the entrance of this house” - the State Veterinary Service reported.

Later experts established that the fox had been infected with rabies.
