Two People Die in Crashed House in Vladimir Region: Officials to Blame?

A four-storeyed house built in 1928 crashed down due to dilapidated timber floors in the town of Strunino of the Vladimir Region on May, 17th.
A six-year-old girl and a forty-year-old woman died under the ruins they were found dead only after a few days of searching. Two more persons were injured.
The collapsed house was recognized not suitable for habitation as far back as 2008.
However, since then officials have not enacted the by-law recognizing the apartment house a dangerous construction; they would have had to settle 98 tenants to a new house then.
Inspectors have called officials from the city administration for interrogation.
