Call center for tourists opens in Moscow

Moscow call center for foreign tourists will begin its work in July-August, 2011. Its main goal is consulting and advices for tourists in emergency situations as well in English. Opening this center is a step towards development of information and telecommunications infrastructure for tourists.
      
      Among services new center will provide are reporting of data about historical monuments of Russian capital, layout of streets, addresses, telephone numbers, working hours of organizations. Tourists will be able to obtain information about public transport, cafes, restaurants, weather, local time, data on currency rates, location of twenty-four-hour cash-point machines and currency exchanges.
      
      Substantial part in work of the center is emergency aid for tourists. Center operators will provide communication with embassies, customs, foreign Ministry and security services. Call center will also provide consultation about ambulance call-out, addresses of specialized hospitals, medical centers and clinics.
      
      Operators will give consultations what to do in cases of blackmailing offenses and swindle. Call center will be provided with a hot line for cases of terrorist threat and extremal situations. Services of call center will be free. It is supposed, that English-speaking operators will operate 750 calls simultaneously.
