Chinese team from Zhejiang was the best in the International Collegiate Programming Contest 2011, and Russian team from St. Petersburg ranked fourth.
Contest organizers and other experts in programming were waiting for a Russian team to win, but it never happened.
However, five Russian contestant teams found themselves in the best 12 programming teams – Nizhniy Novgorod State University (rank 5, silver medal), Saratov State University (rank 6, silver medal), Moscow State University (rank 10, bronze medal) and Ural State University (rank 11, bronze medal).
