GLONASS Beats GPS

GLONASS Beats GPS

Russian authorities claim that Russian navigation system GLONASS is more accurate than its American rival GPS.

GLONASS’s accuracy is 6 meters, and GPS has only 7, they tell mass media. Making orbital satellite group consist of 24 satellites can lead to accuracy improvement up to 2-3 meters.

Another satellite “GLONASS-M” will get to the orbit in August, and three more will strengthen the orbital group in autumn. Before launch, all necessary tests will be performed to avoid the last year’s situation with satellite crash.
