The United States are ready to cooperate with Russia in nuclear energy development and in the prevention of nuclear weapons proliferation in the world, said Steven Chu, U.S. Minister of Energy.
According to Steven Chu, the world should learn a lesson from the events in the Japanese nuclear plant Fukusima. He noted, that the U.S. and Russia have a long history of cooperation in nuclear safety sphere and nuclear weapons nonproliferation. Steven Chu said, that he looks forward to continue the cooperation with Rosatom on several projects, including the utilization of plutonium, radiation monitoring checkpoint systems development and many other projects.
