Russian Yo-Auto will launch car production in St. Petersburg. The ceremony of the foundations of two future plants in St. Petersburg to be laid today.
Yo-Auto, a joint venture between truck maker Yarovit and Onexim investment group, owned by Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, plans to invest 1,3 billion dollars in the project and to create more than 200 jobs. The annual output in the first stage will amount to 10 000 cars, the company also discusses the possibility of launching assembly plants in other regions.
According to RIAN, Russian hybrid cars are in a hot demand. The company has already received more than 50 000 pre-orders of Yo-mobile hybrid cars.
