Glycosciences to Be Discussed in Moscow

Researchers from Russia and India will discuss carbohydrates during the Russian-Indian Symposium on Glycosciences, which takes place in Moscow between June 13 and 16, 2011.
      
      Glycosciences are fields of science, which deal with all aspects of carbohydrates, one of three important classes of chemical substances. Carbohydrates are essential for many processes, for instance, they play a significant role in tumor formation or help infectious microbes to enter an organism. Pharmacological industry pays a close attention to new drugs with carbohydrate components.
      
      The meeting covers chemistry and biochemistry of carbohydrates with special emphasis on development of new drugs and vaccines.
