Russian and Korean engineers developed a new highly sensitive metal detector.
Existing metal detectors show error of 0.2%, which means that 2 out of 1000 people can bring a gun to the concert of you favourite group. Scientists can help – they developed a new mobile metal detector with special software, which doesn’t react on ordinary metal objects, like coins or keys. An operator calibrates the device, and it shows what dangerous objects a man is carrying, and where does he hide them.
Developers claim their detector to be right in 99.99%. The device was tested during EXPO-2010 in Shanghai, where over 72 million people entered the site via these detectors.
