First full Moon eclipse in 2011 will happen tonight. Astrophysicists are getting ready for that.
Full phase of the eclipse will last for about 100 minutes – 40 minutes longer, that a nice eclipse in December 2010 had.
Researchers plan to record many reflected light spectra during the eclipse. These spectra, coming from light of the Sun, are tangential to Earth’s surface and can astronomers a lot about atmosphere and other things, located between the Moon and our planet.
The map of the lunar eclipse is available at Vega observatory (Novosibirsk State University) website, where live of the eclipse, starting at 23.22 Moscow time, can be observed.
