The crew of the International space station will study the problem of calcium removal from bones during long-term space flights.
Scientists plan to experimentally estimate solubility of calcium phosphates and human bone tissue samples in water under microgravity conditions. These experiments are expected to lead to possible solutions for demineralization of bones in cosmonauts during long-term space missions.
Moreover, experiments include studying techniques for making stable solutions and suspensions of substances, which are poorly soluble or non-soluble on Earth under normal conditions.
