Building of the statue of Gold Buddha Shakyamuni has been launched on the sacred Dogee Mountain in vicinities of Kyzyl.
The statue will be 15 meters high and visible from almost any corner of the capital city of Tuva Republic.
The project of building Gold Buddha statue on top Dogee Mountain was presented to Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Buddhists, and was approved and supported by the government of Tuva.
Lots of volunteers, among them pensioners, businessmen, clerks and students, take part in creation of the sacred statue. People donate money, building materials and food products to support the building process.
