Old Photos of Russian Empire Turn into Street Art in Moscow
Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky

Exhibition of the classic of Russian photography Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky (1863-1944) - Collection of Sights of the Russian Empire – has been opened in the exhibition centre “Design Factory Flacon” in Moscow.

The exposition includes fifty coloured photos from Funds of the USA Congress Library with the views of country life and the nature of Russia of the early 20th century.

The project is exhibited in the inner yard of the factory. “Poster-like arrangement of classical photos, deliberate negligence and exaggerated brightness of colors make this exhibition typical street art – the most democratic way of demonstrating arts to general public”, – the exhibition press release reads.

The exhibition will run at the address 36, Bolshaya Novodmitrovskaya Street till July, 20th.
