Cucumber Monument to Appear in Lipetsk Region

Monument to the cucumber will appear in Cherkassy Settlement near Lipetsk in the middle of July.

The amount of 150 thousand roubles has been allocated from the regional budget to create the monument.

The idea of putting up such a monument was initiated by the head of the settlement and the editor-in-chief of the regional newspaper Margarita Bykova.

It is known that the monument will depict a stack with three small cucumbers. Yelets smiths are engaged in making the monument.

The sculpture will be set up next to a fountain in the main square of Cherkassy Settlement.

There are other monuments to cucumbers: in Lukhovitsy Town near Moscow and in Nezhin Town, Ukraine. Another cucumber statue was planned to be set up in Istobensk Settlement of the Kirov Region, but the project failed due to lack of financing.
