RadioSkaf research programme

Another spacewalk of Russian crewmembers of the ISS is scheduled for August 2011.

Out of ISS the cosmonauts will launch a small space ship “Kedr” within a “RadioSkaf” research programme. The satellite will broadcast 25 welcome messages in 15 languages, images of our planet and telemetry from scientific satellites, as well as historic audio recordings.

The “Kedr” mini-spaceship arrived to the ISS this January. “RadioSkaf” research programme is performed under UNESCO patronage of space education in Russia and other countries. “RadioSkaf”  is the first stage of creating a network of small space vehicles, weighing less than 100 kilograms.
