Darwin museum of Moscow introduced QR-codes, which offer detailed information about museum, exhibitions and upcoming events. Just use your cell phone to get the info.
QR-codes (Quick Response) contain information, which can easily be scanned and recognized by any scanning equipment – a mobile phone camera, for instance. These codes are expected to make navigation in the museum much easier than it is now. Moreover, electronic guides will help visitors explore museum’s treasures.
At the moment mobile Internet access is an obligatory requirement for using QR-codes, however, starting from September 2011 all visitors of the museum will be able to access the web via a free Wi-Fi.
