Nordgold Will Mine Gold in Burkina Faso

The Bissa Gold company, owned by Nordgold, a subsidiary of Severstal, has recieved a permission to mine gold in Burkina Faso. 

      According to the Steel Guru, the term of the license is 20 years with a renewal possibility. 

      Severstal plans to start mining gold in Burkina Faso in 2013. By 2014, gold production will amount to 161 000 ounces. Total reserves of Burkina Faso are estimated at 2,9 million ounces. 

      The deposit is located 100 kilometres north of the capital Ouagadougou.
