Unique monument of Ural metallurgy - one of the first ironworks factories in the Urals – has been found during archeological excavations in Yekaterinburg.
According to archeologist Sergey Pogorelov, the discovered Uktussky Factory is unique because it is 300 years old. A timber-earthen dam has miraculously withstood the test of time in this factory.
“It is a unique object, which will be shortly given the scientific status and will be protected as a cultural heritage site” — Sergey Pogorelov mentioned.
A museum complex is expected to be founded at the site of the ancient factory.
