Archeology Museum to be Created in Vologda

The idea of opening Archeology Museum in Vologda was aired during the opening of the archeological exhibition Vologda in the Mirror of the Middle Ages in Vologda Kremlin.

The project was initiated by Valentina Ratsko, the head of Department for Culture and Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Vologda Region.

The museum is planned to be housed in the building of the former Vlasyevsky Church in the Chelyuskintsev Street. For a long time it was occupied with a liquor shop.

Already on 1st September this year a temporary exhibition is expected to be opened there; it will tell about archeological research in the areas of historical sites of the Vologda Region — Vologda, Cherepovets, Kirillov, Belozersk and Velikiy Ustyug.
